Québec City aims to prevent pedestrian deaths within 15 years by addressing dangerous locations, reducing speed limits (30 km/h on 60% of the network), and using AI-powered cameras to identify near misses. The city relies on citizen reports and its own observations to identify high-risk areas and has already improved approximately 50 of 140 identified accident-prone sites. The tramway project will be used to accelerate improvements.
